We rocked up into Dubrovnik from Kotor and a nice old man at the bus station offered to give us a lift to the campsite as his hostel was round the corner and the bus wasn't due for an hour! So found a nice possie in the campsite and headed into the old town to check it out. Soon after arriving the rain began (the first time in months apparently) and it didn't stop for at least 24 hours! we had massive thunder storms and everything and thought the tent might give way but we came through it with a nice clean tent after 6 weeks of dry dusty campsites!! the old town was full of cruise ship tourists while we were there, on our 2nd day when the weather had cleared up we walked around the town walls and there was a pretty good view of the city. it's really quite picturesque and has quite a charm about it. most of our time here we just wandered the streets (getting really wet along the way!)and did some people watching at the cafes dotted all over the place! we checked out a photography exhibition that was based around child soldiers in war torn countries, there was an exhibit on the conflict in kosovo and sarajevo, and others from around the world, that was pretty impressive and a good way to spend time on a rainy day. weather was no good for swimming so didn't get to check out the beaches but got a good dose of that in greece anyway.
