Left Santa Fe on Tuesday August 4th on the way to Shamrock, TX (all my exes live in Texas)
Two things of note 1. we reached 200,000 miles on the minivan!
2nd we stopped to see the Cadillac Ranch - I have to say it was a big disappointment for me. The cadillacs were stood up in this open lot - people bring spray paint and spray the cars - when we were there it must have rained alot because the cars were surrounded by water......yuk!
Dinner in Shamrock at Big Verns Steak House - see ablum cover picture
Next State - Oklahoma n(where the wind comes sweeping down the plains)
We stopped to see the OKC Memorial - quite beautiful - and very sad
The landscape in Oklahoma is pretting dull - the only interesting thing I saw was a hugh silo stating Garth Brooks lives here
Next State Arkansas - Now I know why Bill & Hillary left - not much to see (can't think of a song)
Next - Tennessee- Memphis - Graceland - (Going to Graceland)
Graceland wasn't as cheesy as I thought it would be - a nice tribute to Elvis -
Went to Big Bills BBQ - pulled pork for Steve, Emma and me and 1/2 slab of ribs for Jake!
On the way out of Memphis we saw a funeral procession for a police officer that got shot the week before.....it went on for miles....
Next Kentucky - (my old Kentucky Home) - landscape much better than the previous states - Stopped at a store called DoughDaddy's - Steve got free doughnuts to sample as well as A-81 Ale (ginger ale)
Next West Virginia- (Almost Heaven - West Virginia) went to the downtown area of Charleston and came upon a free concert by the river - got to see a local band - Farnsworth and a Queen cover band
Jake won a hat and Steve won a shirt from a local News Channel
Last night out was in Harrisburgh PA - not much too do.....we all were ready to get home.
