OK....So I know I'm behind and haven't written about China yet. It's alright...I promise I will. It gets overwhelming to blog about a 4 day trip through China and I admit to procrastinating. Plus, there's alot to do, catch up on and plan for in these short 2 day stretches at sea. And when I say alot to do, I mean a few things to do and then I took a nap today before the lifeboat drill and watched The Nanny Diaries yesterday.
We arrive in Japan tomorrow morning!!! I do not have alot planned for Japan but that's alright. Tomorrow is going to be interesting because clearing immigration is supposed to be a real treat. The Japanese officials will board the ship at around 8am when we reach the Port and scan everyone's temperature to make sure none of us are sick, have SARS, or caught Bird Flu in China. Yay! After that, each passenger has to have an indiviual passport check face to face. I don't plan on getting off the ship anytime before 1pm at the earliest. Hopefully that goes well and noone is quarantined. I have one SAS trip on Saturday afternoon which was a last minute addition for me when a student backed out of their home visit. So I will be doing an afternoon home visit with a Japanese family for a few hours. It should be pretty cool...back to my days as an exchange student! I'm on Duty Saturday night as well. Other than that I have no plans. I think that I would like to do a little solo exploring since I haven't done much of that this entire trip. From everything I've read and talked to people about, this will be a very safe place to do it. Some things on my list for Japan are to check out a Sake Brewery and do a little tasting, go to a Sento; traditional Japanese bath, eat some Sushi, and then probably a day trip to Kyoto.
That's all for now! 30 days to go.
