Made our way across to Florence via an afternoon stop in Pisa to get the classic phots of the leaning tower. Tested out walking with our fully loaded packs (bout 20kg) from the train station to the leaning tower and back (1.5km each way) in 25 degrees. Pisa was a nice suprise, as it was a sunday streets were very chilled out.
Found an awesome campground (thanks to the trusty lonely planet) in Florence on a hill top that had amazing views of Florence. Spent the next day checking out the sights then made our way through San Gimignano and Siena. San Gimignano is a classic tuscan village on a hill top with stunning views of the country side.
Then needed to make our way down to Lake Bracciano where we were going to start our bike ride. Got a bus down to Rome, then a train up to Anguillara on the lake where we got chatting to a nice italian man who saw our NZ flags on our packs and ended up giving us a ride to our campground.
