This morning we made our way to Florence. We took a walking tour to see some sites, then to the best leather store in town for a demonstration. Our tour director bought Richard a beautiful belt from there for his birthday. He had it embroidered in gold leaf with his initials, it was extremely thoughtful. I only purchased a small leather bracelet as, again, the items were not inexpensive!
The food in Italy has been amazing. The pizza, pasta and gelato are to die for. So naturally we had pizza and gelato for lunch!
We met up with the group and headed to Rome. It's very busy here as tomorrow is apparently some religious holiday of sorts. The pope will be out so we hope to catch a glimpse of him! We went to see more sites, our favourite of course being the Trevi fountain. It was much bigger than it appears in photos! We made a wish and tossed a coin in. Tomorrow we have a tour inside the Vatican and colleseum, so stay tuned!
