Wednesday was another fun packed day. We had booked ourselves on a tour to take us to some local tribes. En route we were taken to another Orchid and butterfly farm, which was thrilling!! We then stopped off at a long neck tribal village. The long neck women put rings around their necks to stretch them. We were given 3 different reasons for this; 1. to protect them from tiger attacks, 2. to make them more beautiful, 3. they worship the dragon and want necks like them! It was really interesting and some of the women stretched their ears as well. The tribe are refugees from Burma. We then went to a Burmese temple in the caves which which was pretty cool and it had a really old reclining buddha. After we went to another village tribe who were also from Burma and they had the most adorable kids, who we gave sweets to! That evening we went out drinking and I ended up spending 1/2 my money on flowers this little girl was selling, in an attempt to make her go to bed, which she obviously didnt she just went and got more flowers to sell!
The next morning the feeling of death I experienced was out of this world! Never have I felt soooo ill after drinking. It took everything I had to make it round a temple in Chiang Mai which had 306 steps to climb and the most windy road imaginable!!
This morning I still didnt feel 100% but we had booked ourselves onto a cooking course which was really cool. We cooked 6 dishes all together which were all amazing! We had a really good day. Tomorrow we head to the Laos boarder!
