Our final stop! After filling up on as much breakfast as we could eat from the buffet (it would e our last proper meal for a while!), we set off, donkey Rhys in tow. It was quite a long walk in the heat with our packs to the local bus stop, but it was much cheaper than getting a taxi. When our bus eventually arrived, there were so many people waiting for the bus that it became overloaded, and we probably only went a few miles before it overheated and we all had to get out again. Thankfully Simon flagged down another smaller local bus, and we went the rest of the journey in that to the St Lawrence area, southern Barbados, to find a place to stay.
Simon and I waited in a bar while Rhys and Matt went to find somewhere to stay. They found somewhere 2 mins walk from the beach and not too expensive, so we all moved in. We had a walk on the beach in the evening, but we were too exhausted to do much else. Simon had to leave at 5 in the morning anyway to get a plane to New York.
Matt and I got up with Simon to walk him to the bus stop, and while we waited, we were approached by a security guard who was also a pastor who started preaching to us about Jesus and told me that my soul had moved out of my body while he prayed for us... quite scary, but it was easier to go along with him than to try and discuss our personal views with him.
After Simon left, we went for a stroll on the beach and watched the sun rise, then we went back to bed... The rest of the day we spent trying to work out how to put pictures on this blog and lazing around at the beach. Sad that Simon had to leave so soon though, we're all missing him being around and making us laugh.
