Happy New Year!
Not only did I get there before most of you (2011 that is) but I also became and Auntie on the night! How amazing! I've been on Skype a couple of times to see my gorgeous little nephew Ollie, he's a cheeky little monkey sleeping all the time! All I want to do is squish his little cheeks :P
New Years Eve was great though. It was a really long day because we had to sit in a line outside the park where we were waiting to see the fireworks from around 3pm til the sun went down and the fireworks began. It was really hot too and no shade, about 30 degrees we think. There was fireworks at 9pm and then the main event at midnight. The fireworks were epic. They alsted about 15 minutes. They were choreographed to go off with music which I listened to on the radio and it was really effective actually! We ate brie and bread, mini meat pies and homemade rice and satay sauce. Once the fireworks were done I headed home to find out more news about my nephew!
New Years day was another good day. I went to Field Day Festival in Sydney. It was so hot again, sweating by just standing up. I saw a few cool bands, cut some shapes on the dancefloor and enjoyed the company of Holly and Carmel who I knew from University. It was a really good day a definately worth the money.
We had a BBQ in our backgarden on the Sunday. The weather wasn't as good as the previous day but the rain kept off untilw e'd all sizzled our food. We played a legendary game of charades in teams...my team won of course..by miles! Can't beat a bit of competitivness!!
Unfortunately the festivities and games had to come to an end and now I am back at work. I only have 8 more actual working days left and then a bit of relaxation in Sydney before moving south then west! I can't wait!!
