This is to commemorate the British ship that was in port the morning of 3rdFebruary 1931 when an earthquake hit and flattened Napier. The sailors helped the wounded and searched for people trapped but also radio'd a message to Wellington to get help, otherwise no-one would have known the extent of the tragedy for a few days at least.
