had to be up at 5.30am to catch a 5 hour coach, and 3 hour boat journey to reach our next beach paradise - tioman island!we decided to stay at salang beach which was a good choice as it was a really nice place and managed to get a lovely room at salang pusaka resort, after knocking them down RM40 a night.
time to hit the beach again for more sunbathing and swimming! nice clear waters.... but it doesnt beat the perhentian islands!
we also did some kayaking around to some smaller beaches.. though it decided to rain so we quickly paddled to a nearby beach, steering into tree branches thanks to me being distracted and not looking where we were going! had to shelter under the tree until it eased off, though we still got soaked! the waves had picked up and the moment we chose to climb into the kayak, was the moment a big wave decided to hit the beach, drowning us in the process! we then quickly paddled back through the tree branches before we could get hit by another wave!! was really funny... well until it decided to pour with rain again and there was nowhere for us to shelter so just had to kayak back in it. we did see a big group of reef sharks from our kayak though which cheered us up!
the next day we did a round the island trip where we got to see some of the other beaches, a waterfall and lots of snorkelling.
we had planned to spend the last two days topping up our tan... but no such luck - it rained, and all we could do was read our books on our balcony. pretty boring!
still sad to leave the island, even if we did have bad weather, as the staff were so lovely. we had a joke around with them every evening, and had a few drinks at the bar... but we must move on to our last stop - singapore!
