Hello here's my blog on Langkawi island Malaysia, to get there we had a short 2 hour ferry journey from Penang.
When we arrived it was hard to be a taxi as everyone was just waiting for them and you had to get in there quick or you would be waiting for ages.
When we to to hostel (langkawi cottage) it was as we expected a 4 person dorm with a couple of fans, one ceiling one for the upper bunks and a stand up one for the lower bunks, we put our stuff in and headed straight for the beach, it was beautiful white and and like coral colour sea which was as warm as a bath I had never seen sea as warm as it.
The first night in the dorm was horrible I could not sleep due the heat of the place I was so hot on the to bunk my hair was wet I hated it, dave swapped bunks with me for the rest of the stay there so i could sleep bless him, the bottom bunk was still hot but the standing fan made it bare able to sleep.
In Langkawi we didn't do much in the day we just sunbathed on the beach an then we would go back to the hostel for a couple of hours and relax and then go to the shopping centre to get a Chang beer as they were tax free there and sit on the beach and drink it while watching the sunset before going to dinner which tended to be the same place, difiqua as it was the only one we could afford.
While we were in Langkawi dave wanted to go on the sky bridge and cable car, something that I was not looking forward to as My biggest fear in life s suddenly dropping so as you can imagine going on a cable car did not excite me but I wanted to do it to face my fear and Also because I knew dave really wanted to go on it so I wanted to do it or him too, we got a taxi there and I plucked up the courage to go on, I was so proud of myself it was really high and I was really scared but that doesn't matter because I did it. The views from the top were beautiful it was all jungle around us where you could hear the monkeys and you could see the sea and mountains it was so worth it. But unfortunately the sky bridge was closed for maintenance so dave couldn't go on it. He wants to a sky dive next.... Think that's a bit optimistic though one step at a time for me.
It was hard being away for my mums birthday though although I skyped her on the day it wasn't the same i really wanted to be there and celebrate with her and my family it was hard thinking I wasn't there, so I had a beer on the beach for her to celebrate like she asked instead.
I loved being away from the city for a week and on the beach with the beautiful views, I have really noted my time in Malaysia but I am looking forward to get to thailand now as I know how amazing it is. I will update you from there, love and miss you all xx
