Hello everyone so here is my first blog entry for Kl where I was from the 17th - 22nd March 2013. Saying goodbye to my mum lee and daves parents at the airport was very emotional but as soon as I went through the boarding gates excitement took over that something that me and dave had been saving for and all the things we had sacrificed to go for the last 11 months had finally been worth it because it was happening. We flew from heathrow airport at 14.15 into Doha where we had an hour stop over and got on another plane to Kl. we flew with Qatar airways and I couldn't recommend them enough the food was lovely and it was 2 vey comfortable flights. I only had about an hours sleep on the 16 hour journey so I was so tired when I got off he plane. We got picked up by daves uncle kumar who took us to his auntie shanti's house it was pouring it down with rain and thundering and lightning and kumars wipers didn't work, I don't have a clue how he could see to get us there.
When we got to shanti's house she showed us our room and me and dave had a two hour nap straight away. When we woke up we had time to shower before going for dinner which is when I experienced my first malaysian shower (a large bucket of water with a small one to scoop it over you) it was cold at first but after a couple of scoops was very refreshing. That night we went for a Chinese where I met daves mums family. There was so many of them, lots of aunties uncles and cousins.
While I was in Kl we went to Batu caves where we walked 280 steps to the top to a cave with monkeys and a temple, there was many temples on site and also a reptile house which I really didn't like because the animals really didn't have enough room. For lunch we went to a vegetarian resteraunt because its a religious site they can't serve meat in any of the resteraunts and me and dave had the most disgusting noodles we didn't eat them.
We went out with Sharimilla Emily and Farah for a few drinks in Waikiki bar which had a ladies night on so I was drinking free vodka all night, they really need to have one of those back home it was great and dave got a drink bought for him by some man who was going to England and obviously wanted a contact there (don't worry they opened the beer at the table).
We also went and saw the twin towers in the day they were really tall with daves mum and cousin and had a nandos in the shopping complex behind it. Later that night we went back again with Sharimilla and Emly and Farah and took pics of them lit up and the Kl tower it was so pretty.
David's uncle Apu and his wife picked myself Dave and Thila up and took us too melacca for the day where we had char Sui pork belly pork and rice for lunch and went on a boat down the river after going into another big boat that was also a museum with the history of the area, we had to get back early though to pack and get ready to leave Kl to get up at 5.30am to get the train to Penang. In Kl we did not spend a penny as the family would not let us his cousin even chased after us to pay when we walked off to buy a packet on crisps. It was lovely to me the other side of his family they were all very welcoming and hospitable and I hope to meet them all again. I will update you all from Penang. Love and miss you all xxxx
