We finally arrived in Townsville on the east coast. No more long days of driving. Our first stop along the road to Cairns was little crystal creek. It was a very pretty place with a few small waterfalls flowing under a bridge in to swimming pools. The water was a little cold but Sion was very hot and went in to cool down. Rachel wasn't brave enough.
The next day we went to Wallaman falls, the tallest free falling waterfall in Australia, 263m high. There had been a lot of rain in Queensland in the last few weeks so it was in full flow. It was a beautiful waterfall with a rainbow at the bottom. We decided to walk to the bottom for a better view. It was a long walk and we had to be careful not to touch stinging leaves. If stung we would have been in severe pain and symptoms can last for months! There are always things out to get you in Australia! The view from the bottom was stunning.
We also had a companion travelling with us, a small green frog! It had somehow made its way in to the door frame. We don't know how far it had travelled with us. We are supposed to watch out for stowaway frogs, so shh! Once you have read this take a hammer to your computer.
