It has been a while a guy's! Did not stick to my plan of writing a blog each week at all! It has infact been about 5 weeks, since my last one! I will try not kill any of you though!
It is 4 pm on the 26th of April. Today is the fourth anniversairy of when my mother passed away. So today I am up the Hill's at my Auntie's. We have all just got back from a lovely coffee in the 26 degree heat. The weather keeps changing, as last week was alot cooler but this weekend it is going to reach around 30 degrees!
Hello, so now it is the Sunday the 28th! After having a coffee I left my Aunt's and caught the train into Fremantle. The other week I posted an add on 'Gumtree' which was a little like this... "Pommy girl 22 needs a ride from Perth to Broome" ha ha as you can imagine I had some strange replies, but one that seemed 'normal' so we arranged to meet for a drink. Stacie is from Taiwan, her partner Stephan is from Germany and his best friend Tim is also from Germany, they are all 23. Tim and Stephan came over together and brought a 'Wicked Van' and drove down the East coat to Perth. In Adelaide they met Stacie and as they tell me 'it was love at first sight' ... 'sweet as bro'. When I first met them it was a little like blind date, texts included 'what are you wearing?' could have gone terribly wrong but we hit it off straight away. So our plan is that on Monday we are leaving at 8 am! We are driving until we get tired, then Stephan and Stacie will sleep in the back off the van and Tim and I brought our own one man tents so I am sure that will be fun! every night me with all these poles, not to dance around but to ensemble... yea not going to be cool! We are travelling up the West coast stopping at free campsites to shower and wash clothes, setting up camp on the beaches, snorkeling, seeing the sights and living on pasta, tuna, beans and powdered milk! I cannot wait! We reckon it will take about 3-4 weeks and then from Darwin I may either go to Bali for a week as real cheap, fly over to Cairn's or maybe stay and work for a bit. I will let you all know.
So since the last time I wrote a blog, I have done quite a bit. St Patrick's day is where I left you last, so that is where I will begin! St Patrick's day was brilliant! We all caught the train into Fremantle and went straight to 'Rosie 'o' Grady's'. It was packed and just so green! so that meant two drinks at once and to steal a St Paddy's hat as they had run out! We went straight to the outside bar and squeezed under an umbrella as it was so hot! We got chatting to a group of people, who once heard my accent and found out I was from London would not stop with the "You sound like your from londooooooon"! Yea funny the first time, hours later-not so funny! So after alot of drinking, chatting and burning it was time to leave and go and see what this 'John Butler' craze is about. When we got there everyone was all over the place! we found a little spot on the top of the hill and after about ten minutes he came onto stage. He was very good! He played for about an hour or so and after that we went back to the pub to meet Kylie, as she had stayed there drinking. We stayed there till late so consumed alot more booze and danced in front of a live band with a pub full of Irish and Australian's. We then had a monster trek home! which involved me thinking I was going to throw up the whole train ride! At one point I made us all get off the train and yep I was sick and that was it... this lasted hours! should not have had that kebab!
Two weeks ago we had a house barbie. True Aussie style 'Bring your own meat' we set up the table, which was painted with the Australian flag and made an Eskie out of an old wooden box. Not much to say about this apart from ... booze games more booze food booze booze booze and booze. Best way really! I have been to the cinema twice since my last blog. The first time was when we went to see 'The Hunger Games' which was really good! It is apparently very big in America, to the extent of Harry Potter! It is a very good movie and I will read the books! I also went the other night with my Aunt, Kyrie and Hayley to see 'The Lucky Ones'. Well what to say about that erm 'Zac Efron' He has never really stood out to me, but my god he is getting a lot better looking as he gets older! It's very much a girly movie but again a good one!
The other week Kyrie and I went to the 'Gold Mint' in Perth, which is awsome! It holds the largest gold coin! You also can see how gold used to be melted down and they do a display in front of you. It turns from liquid gold to solid gold in two minutes! So much money in that place! In the last three weeks, I have been the the wildlife center and the zoo. The Wildlife center was alot better! You get to walk around the Kangaroos and get up close with the animals. It was brilliant! Obviously after having been to Kenya, seeings animals in cages will never beat seeing them in the wild but the center was very good, unlike the zoo. Most of the animals were not there and the ones that were like the Elephants were just boring but as I said I think after seeing them run around in the wild, nothing will beat that experience.
I have worked alot since I got here, which has helped with my rent and food. The job was okay, and allowed me to meet people but waitresing and making drinks definatly is not what I would want to go into. However for easy money you can deal with customers that say things such as "mines the meat, when you shout out salmon". As much as I have loved my time in Perth, and seeing my family I cannot wait to travel around. And I am defiantly doing it in the best way - a van! You get to stop where you want and see things people that fly do not.
Again I am sorry this took so long! I hope none of you are dead after this essay! I did try to narrow everything down this time.
I am not sure when I will next write a blog as here I have had accessible internet which has also allowed me to use my iphone on wifi.
