Took a tour of Rio's biggest favella today. Our guide was a 16 yo girl who lived there - was awesome. Favelas nothing like what I thought. Very much just a poor suburb rather than a slum. Visited Santa Teresa today. Worst attempt by a taxi driver ever to overcharge by taking a longer route when she literally drove up one road up the mountain all the way to the top, then turned round and drove down the same road back to the start before taking us where we actually needed to go.

Beach day! Were supposed to head to Santa Teresa today for a look-see, but Jen was "sick" apparently. Almost certainly from cellulosis. Also, her t*** are peeling from the topless sunbathing in Colombia.

Beach day! Heaven. Water is insanely cold, it's almost (almost) to cold to concentrate taking a piss in, which is almost the only reason I go in because all the cervaca I'm downing kinda leaves me no choice. Ate at a weigh-your-food buffet type thing. Jen has a mission of increasing her overall body weight by 25kg on this trip and is just about there - hoping to erase the painful memory of the bill for her meal.

Oh boy. Cachaca hangover in a major way. Never again. Beach is f***en wicked. Brasilians don't use towels which is strange.
