We were up early this morning to meet our taxi to the airport. The hotel was nice enough to prepare a take away breakfast, which we ate after checking in our luggage.
The flight was good, although any flight is better than a Ryanair flight. Once in Fiumicino airport we had to find the right bus stop and then wait 1.5 for the bus to Perugia.
The bus trip was long (almost four hours) but we had no problems getting to our favourite EU destination. We knew when we had crossed over into Umbria because the countryside changed from being pretty flat farmland, into Lush green farmland with rolling hills and mountain peaks. I Love this part of Italy!
We hopped of the bus at Perugia station and immediately went looking for a wine store before our friends came to pick us up. We picked up a few bottles of Champagne and Spumante to help celebrate our last visit for awhile.
Umburto and Gabriella came to pick us up and we all went back to Gabriella's flat for an aperitivo. That's where the night of good times began! After a few laughs over some snacks and wine, we went over to Jacob's house to drop our bags off and catchup with the rest of the crew over some more drinks.
We then walked into the centre of town to a lovely restaurant and had an absolutely perfectly cooked steak with truffles for dinner. It was the restaurants speciality dish.
After dinner we walked to a bar that was close by, and had a few beers that were brewed in Perugia, while the girls got stuck into the Long Islands. We then went for a walk to a club for some more drinks and cocktails!
By the time we stumbled out of the club it was after 4am, and then we put our wobble boots on for the walk back to Jacob and Audrey's to crash. It was a fun night we had a really good catch up, and I'm sure there will be plenty more to come.
