Thought i would leave a message. Sounds like your all having a good time so far. The pics look cool, am sure even those dont do justice to how much of a good time your all having out there though!!! And long may it continue for you all!!!
I thought i'd just let you know the weather back here is fantastic... its been sub zero all week, the fog has set in which means i cant see 5 foot in front of me, havent seen sunshine for a couple of days now... but apart from that its fantastic!! In fact, i think you would prefer to be back here than all the way over there!? Ok maybe not? haha.
Anyway, going now!! keep us updated and have a great time!!
see ya!!

Good Afternoon,
What fantastic photographs, keep-em coming! The ones with Phil sitting sideways on a wall with bowls of water were brill! How did you do that without the water spilling out?
Does Nath never stop eating?
How much did Mark charge for haircutting (Don't try and tell us he did it for free!).
Anyway, superb pics of fish & penguins and the rugged coast.
Take care you lucky people.

Now then everybody! Hope everything is ok?Sorry that I haven't been in touch earlier just that we've been so busy having fun. Right I won't rub it in too much but I'm absolutely loving it out here and its completely different to what I expected. Getting here went smoothly. Phil was given a little surprise by her mates who had arranged for the air-stewards to bring a bottle of Champagne to her whilst flying-that was funny and she cried alot. When we touched down like always the first thing that greeted us here was the hot weather which since then has been gorgeous. We're staying in an area called observatory which is a student area so is really vibrant. We've got plenty around us to keep us busy when we are not visiting somewhere. The people that are sharing our hostel are really cool and are from all over the world i.e america, germany, holland, sweden. The german dude who is called Bjorn has become my running partner down on the local cricket and football pitch. For my birthday which was on the 9th we went to the beach which was a 25min train ride away which was an experince in itself (i'll get onto the minibuses later). we had a walk on the front and watched a flock of surfers which was pretty cool. later that night we had a toast with Phil's champagne with all the other students and we went out for something to eat in this place called Babbo which has become our local because its so cheap but is really nice. (Actually everything is cheap over here and the exchange rate seems to be getting better for us.) we got to know everyone pretty well which was good because since then they've given us some good advice. anyway that was my birthday apart from that we've been down town and got to know the city centre pretty well which I love cause there's so many different types of people. we met one guy in the internet cafe place who use to live on manchester road a few months ago and was able to tell me the bus number he used to catch-that was weird and I forgot to ask him whether we caused him any disruption with our works.ha ha. we've been to a place called the Waterfront which is a Harbour. There there was an Aquarium which as you can see from our pics taken was amazing. The Harbour is the only place you can book a trip to Robben Island where Nelson was kept so we've done that for this sunday which I cant wait for. Yesterday we went to an area called Camp's Bay which Katherine you was right about seeing the different wealth classes from one area to another. it was still pretty cheap though for us british that you spot from a mile away with our over excited attitude whenever we see a beautiful beach which this one was. the water was a tad cold but never the less I tipped toed in. Tomorrow we going on The Peninsula Tour which will take us to loads of different area and tourist bits. we've been told its amazing and we'll see loads of animals and hopefully some cheeky monkeys. Rite to the bit I said i would mention later. The minibuses. If you have never ridden in one of these then you haven't lived. you can jump in one anywhere on the road, are really cheap(40rand from lowerhouses to Brighouse) and are cramped with so many different people, some who are a bit strange and some who are really funny. each has an assistant who shouts out to the pedestrians on the road trying to get them to take a ride instead of walking. they are so funny. and to top all this off most are equipped with a boom box that tends to be banging out some beats on your trip into town. nothing is done on the quite side here. Well hope that is enough for now. I will try and keep everyone updated as much as possible. hope you all are doing fine and please pass this message on to all those who have asked about me since I've been away. that reminds me, all the gifts and the money have come in to really good use and has helped me out so much. I haven't really touched my money yet and we've been living like kings and queens, well maybe not that good but more than I expected. loving the sleeping bag liner Katherine, sleep in it every nite. Hope your wedding planning is still going well. last thing tell all the boys like Chris and Johnny that the beer over here is so cheap. Last nite it was 2 for the price of 1, so we was paying something like 80p for 2 bottles of Castle which is really nice and is there local stuff. anyway best go Philippa's telling me to hurry up because we need to head back so adios everybody. spk soon. :-) Nathan
