sounds like you are making friends over there. Your face looks like a work of art, shame there isn't a full picture of it, I bet if you have signed it it would have been in the running for the Turner prize!
All well here, hoping to see Em, M and E at some point soon for Sunday lunch - will miss you :(
take care, bx

hi phil, have i not always warned you of the danger of children? the phobia is there for a reason, that said we are in half term week so they are everywhere (apparently the bell isnt the only place that has customers!!!) and i did experience a small person that was quite charming, must be getting old! despite sarahs prediction in fact we are having lots of crisp sunny days in wells, good for getting out and about taking lots of pictures, cards are still selling well i am happy to say. had a great weekend music-wise, rainmen did their usual magic, i think they are my favourites now. i told Brian we were smooching to the next song and he said not on your life! i think it was a term of endearment surely! after this halt term week we will start closing on sun night so party season begins, lil chris is getting some drinking practise in. no one is dying in grimsby at the moment so they are sulking as they have to live like the rest of us now they have no money! dawn and kate have disappeared so we now have matt owen doing bar at weekends and me and joe sharing the rest which is still going well, luckily we have had lots of nice customers! chris is still living with brain at the moment, they are quite a sweet couple really! good luck with the brats, give them one of my looks! about to get cut off my email address as i am broadband now so may take a while for me to work out how to get new one, so have fun and enjoy it and stop counting the days!!! L xxxxx

hey phil
s'funny but reading ur saturday blog reminded me so much of the july americans - wealthy parents send their kids to summer school so the parents can enjoy their holidays - the kids range from eager to apathetic. the worst ones are 'politely disruptive' - asking stupid questions, going to the loo every ten minutes, turning up late, eating in class...
i do sympathise with you. i think i have an easier time with the americans as the culture difference is not so pronounced.
don't forget...

No, but you can hear it in my accent when i talk.

Hellloo Phil. Well, this time a year ago you would have been flying out to Tanzania (or near enough), Evie would have turned one year old (she is now twice that age - the only time in life when one can say that I think!) and Andy and I had tied the knot. What a busy old year. Here you are again off on another exciting trip, seeing and experiencing new things. I spoke to Andrea the other day, she has recently started her teaching job at Long Road. You can be assured that the priviledged kids of Cambridge are no better than yours apparently! She is having a heck of a time keeping up with it all - says its very hard work but I guess neither of you would have gone into this vocation thinking it would be easy. It takes a special kind of person to teach, so hang on in there. For the second time this year I have felt particularly chargrined today. We have spent this evening enjoying a lovely meal and watching the DVD Em and M made for us and then your Tanzania DVD with the wedding on it. It just brought home to us once again what good friends you all are for having gone to so much trouble and effort in helping to remember the 20th and, perhaps, how very remiss we have been in telling you so. I can't tell you how nice it is to watch these things again and bring back all those happy memories. I intend to make it an anniversary ritual. I never really thanked you properly for including our wedding in the DVD you made, but please be sure that it meant/means a heck of a lot.
Anyway, enough sentimental bobbins from me! Things are bound to get easier with the teaching and it seems to me obvious that you are doing a good job out there. Its all good experience and at least you're not working in an office! Lots of love from both of us, bxx
Sarah
Hey Phil!!
Great to hear from you. Perservere with the kiddies.. i meet lots of monied types in the wiveton bell, and they are usually idiots.. but you have to realise this and allow for it! I am still working hard, and still waiting for the illusive day off! Well actually i am off for nearly a week after tonights shift. Me and Brian are heading to London for the week. Should be fun... or something.. lol Strangely enough i also know more about Pakistan than Wells at the moment! I imagine there is nothing going on in Wells.. the weather is getting colder.. the people are leaving, the long winter is setting in.. woohoo! It is still busy at the Bell however.. really looking forward to time off. Will telll you if i have any adventures when i return as i think i will be computerless for a week.. i do not know how i will manage! Ok, gotta go make B a coffee. Take Care, Love Sarah xx
