Before we started our shopping tour in Manhattan we wanted to check out what we could buy in an outlet store. We chose the Jersey Garden Outlet Mall against the advice of the concierge (he recommended the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets). We got there by bus: in my mind this journey (during about half an hour) payed off the visit to this outlet. It was so fascinating! As soon as you leave Manhattan toward New Jersey you get in areas which could be located in Mexico or any other South American country...There are current lines all over the streets and the houses equal more barracks than apartment buildings. In short I felt like being in a Third World Country. And the area around Newark is though there is no housing development so meagre that you automatically ask yourself what could have happened to this nature (because the climate here is very similar to ours). When we arrived I thought that the building seemed to be a bit small, because there are just two levels, thus no skyscraper. But inside it was vast, giant...a MEGAstore!!! However we couldn't buy as much as we thought. Especially Victoria's Secret disappointed us a lot: The lingerie could have been from H&M, nothing special though. We found very pretty sunglasses from Guess and Marion's Converse Shoes instead. Thus this visit was worth it.
