We arrived in New York with the weather warm but drizzly, I guess it made us feel like home. Our first visit was to Nathan Sawaya's "The Art of the Brick" exhibition which was really cool and interesting. After that, we wandered around the streets for a bit before meeting Suhanya's friend Sarah and going for a mandatory cupcake at Magnolia bakery. We then walked along the high line which was like a peaceful island of calm in the middle of a busy bustling one. In the evening we went to a cheese and wine bar with Neil before heading to a mexican restaurant to meet up with Toby.
On day three in New York we headed down to the 9/11 memorial. The waterfalls were mahoosive, each one filled the area of each tower. We then walked to Battery Park to see the Statue of Liberty before walking all the way back to mid-town to see Bryant Park. The park was very christmassy with little stalls and an ice rink. In the evening we visited Rockafeller Plaza, the view from the top was amazing at night but it was freezing and really windy so we quickly walked around the outside area before heading into the warmth. Our favourite view was seeing the Empire State Building. New York is a beautiful city at night.
