Your hard body celebs are back….at least it feels that way until a look in the mirror brings us back to reality. We have been walking all over the Brazilian side of Iguassu Falls and our up close and personal view has brought on the walking man mode in full force.Since we last communicated we have visited Parque Nacional Iguassu which is on the border of Brazil and Argentina.Located within the park is the widest waterfall in the world. The power, size and sheer noise of the falls have to be experienced to be believed.
Before I tell you more about our experience, first I must stop to brag on our accompanying personal travel agent who has once again made a splendid choice in lodging. To have a daughter who handles every detail to perfection has made this trip extra special. We don't have to worry about anything but showing up for the event of the day. Excellente! I do a great impersonation of the Spanish version of "where is the bathroom" and ordering off of the local menu.I am so proud! I must have been having an out of body experience when I took Spanish in school.
Unlike our fabulous 10th floor Rio contemporary apartment with a 24hr door man (armed guard), on the Argentina side of Iguassu we stayed in a little hideaway paradise cottage. There were only three units on the property so our group took two of them and our new found friends, Jim and Shelly, from Steamboat Springs made three. The cottages were tucked among lush trees, ferns and singing birds. And our patio chairs welcomed us to sit, visit and enjoy the beauty. At this B & B we were served caipirinhas (a cocktail I had been introduced to in Rio) and appetizers in the evening as well as breakfast the following morning. In fact the three couples of us had so much fun together that we agreed to meet up in Buenos Aires for a dinner and reunite in Steamboat at their place.Another great ski destination awaits us.
We first went to the Brazilian side to visit the falls and with each step we continued to be awed by magnificent beauty. Just when I thought that it couldn't get any better - it did! When we went to the Argentina side the beauty was unparallel; with almost every glance there was a rainbow larger than I have ever seen before. We walked up and down steps, hills, cliffs, paths and all the time inspired to see more.Oh that's right; I have already mentioned all the stairs (must have been thousands!).When I get home the elliptical runner will take no prisoners. We ended the day at "Devils Throat" with the most spectacular view of the sunset, more rainbows and multiple falls all coming together to form an intense climax to our day.
After two glorious days in the Iguassu area we have now arrived in Buenos Aires.Bella ciudad… Doc is going to take it over from here so let the show go on!
My darlings, Antony and Rachelle have been the most outstanding hosts imaginable. This two week experience with them has been amazing.I'll crawl in their suitcase any time.Usually when we leave each other it is very sad but not this time.We will see them again in Dallas in a couple of months.Yeah!
Love to my entire fan base,
Kat
Ps. I hate dolce de leche.
