So after an intense 4 days drinking in the tube ! we set of on our first sleeper bus journey on our tour from vientiane ( Laos) to Hanoi (vietnam) . The bus took 24 hours however it wasn't to bad due to an overdose on valium ! which we had been reccomended to take during the journey and so for the 24 hours we travelled we where only awake for around 3

When arriving in Hanoi we stayed at "Hanoi backpackers" which is in a chain of backpackers throughout vietnam .it was also by far the best place we have stayed (hostel wise ) so far . The place was pretty lively , had a games room / bar so the drinking didn't stop here .we also booked a 3 days and 2 night trip around Halong bay with them . which in my eyes is the best tour round halong bay as there is just as much partying as there is sight seeing .

Halong Bay : probably my best trip so far since ive been away travelling , we took a bus which took 4 hours to the bay and then set off on a small boat to the "jolly rodger" (our big boat) which we cruised around the islands on ! the drinking started almost as soon as we set foot on the ship and our Rep inforced a few drinking rules which we had to abide by the whole time we where on the ship ! one of them was left hand drinking which luckly for me was easy as Im a left hand drinker :D but if you where caught it would result in finishing your drink !

After bording the jolly rodger we cruised for around 2 hours before stopping for some lunch and a swim . we then took out kayak's ,a few more beers and set of for a short tour around some of the islands and into a few caves . we also saw a floating village , market and how the vietnamiese people lived in the bay .which was pretty weird to think that most of them havent been onto the mainland . After sinking our kayak we then reboarded the jolly rodger for some dinner and a night of drinking . we also joined up boats with another group from the same hostel and the reps got drinking games going ( the ring of fire and Roxanne ) which got everyone smashed by the end of them . roxanne was my favorite as it just consisted of non stop drinking .

The next day we set off for Cast away island , which is the hostels own private island .

it took around 4 hours to get there so we had plenty of time to chill out on the top deck in the sun and relax before arriving . on the way we saw a lot of halong bay ( which is amazing ) and some more floating houses / villages . I also saw a local man managing to row a boat using only his feet which I was amazed about and couldn't get over .

when ariving at cast away island we had a few hours before lunch so we chilled out on the beach . The island also had a volleyball court and a tabel tennis tabel which we made good use of .. we also went wake boarding , which I though would be easy to master but it turned out to be harder than it looked .. i only managed to stand up twice and not for long

after the wakeboarding we sat down for dinner and then restarted another nights drinking ! I can't remember much of the night and ended up waking up face down on the beach . we also went in the water at night ( when the plancton was in ) which was amazing ! ive never seen anything like it . the only way to describe it is it looks like small fireworks appering off of your body when you move around .. apparently the plancton react when you touch them and glow in the dark

day 3 and home time ! I was absolutly shatterd . me and another guy ste had stayed up later than everyone else on the trip and it didn't work in our favour ! we were pretty hung over and trying to sleep with a ship full of lads proved to be impossible .. we where rudely awaken a few times , once with a bucket of cold water

When getting back off the trip we spent the next two days recovering and as allways drinking in the evenings . There was also a curfue on some of the bars and if they where caught still open after 12 the Police would come in and kick everyone out ... However unlike back in england where they would just shout and push people out the door they came in with tazers and started flashing them about and on one ocasion i was about a foot away from being zapped !
