HI my lovers...
So its been a while i know...thanks for all your messages! So i left Koh Phi Phi last Tuesday...once again Effie held my hand all the way to the pier, as i cried..once again! However this time i felt very different in leaving. It wasnt quite as bad. Ben had stolen a lunch off the boat for me, and i managed to get discount and help moving all my bags as i worked for Island Divers. So that was extremely handy! Tha thai boys carried my bags onto the boat and everything! My last few days in Phi Phi were spent chilling out, sleeping alot and going out parting alot! There are pictures! but my laptop has inconviently DIED!!!! And this therefore means its going to be a long while until u all see them! Sorry.
But i left, watching Hot Fuzz on my ipod through out the whole ferry journey to Phuket pier. And hour and a half later and i was in a taxi on my way to Yacht Haven Marina, North Phuket. It was raining, and was continuing to do so. I finally arrived at the Marina and dragged my bags down to the boat where there was only what could be described as mayhem taking place! It was 6 in the eve gone, and many people were still working on the boat.
Half an hour later and my bags are stashed into my new room, and im being introduced to all the crew and captain. Rick The captain, (reminds me of Ray Ray! as he has a beard and little hair on his head, and frankly looks similar!) He speaks 6 languages and is an extremely exprienced sailor, with our 35 years under his belt. Also a funny guy.
William the French one. Is the previous captain/first mate. He was very stressed over the first few days when i first met him, but as things have died down, he's very funny, and chilled. He actaully leaves in a week to work in the Alps after 2 ears of working on the Raja Laut. (he's making the most of the last week definately!)
Then theres the other Will, he's English and works in the office in Borneo, however he's here helping out with the fixing up of the boat and the first week or so of sailing (a bit of a holiday for him i think) Nice guy, and i managed to do all my contract and info with him yesterday.
The replacment for Will is Ban, a Phillipino, very quite, so im trying to lighten him up a little, especially as im meant to be taking orders from him when it comes to the sailing...and i can quite easily over power him with my bossiness! (as we all know and love!) So im ttrying to insist that he becomes a louder individual with orders etc. A lovley fellow though, and speaks very good english. So we chat alot...as he also does not know Malay.
So...the other crew, Joey, the Chef, from Malaysia, very funny guy ( i think he looks like a girl/is a girl! App not!!) Could have put my foot in it there!
Adam, from Malaysia also, is the deck hand and general matanance for all on board, and Achmad who is also Malaysian (you see why me and Ban get on! As we have no idea what these 3 are rattling on about half the time!) He is the engerneir and also boat hand...very funny sense of humor. And they all speak very good English, Adam not so much, but he's quite hush anyway.
I have my cabin all to my self, which is great, its a small, but of a good standard, got 2 mirrors!! THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OBVIOUSLY!!! LOL. love it.
and i have a self for some of my clothes. The shower is cold, but its very very good! and im quite happy in there except for the fact that it gets rather hot, and im waiting to steal a fan from one of the other bed rooms (joey is going to help me!)
But the first few days on board where hard, up early and finishing very late. I was shattered! Plus i was eatting alot, which upset me also! But the physical/hard labour and fixing the boat up was tiring. Painting, plaing and making stuff with ropes, soldering bits, fixing up my dive store (which has now become to room everyone else puts random crap in so that their work place is clean! Not having that for much longer!)
BUt we finally set sail on Saturday, which was amazing!!! It took 5 hours to get from the Marina to Chalong, where we have spent the past few nights in the bay. We had a day charter on Sunday, which was good. Over 5 people from 11am til 6 pm (they paid 5,000euros for the day!!!!!! OMG!!!) food, sailing, service, kayaking, and snorkelling were the main activities and I worked my arse off!! Consant smile etc. Which was indeed noticed by all, and worth all the effort at the end of the day. My skills in organising and being bossy came in handy, and Both Will's and Rick were impressed ( i dont think they quite expected it really!! Oh so so wrong!) But it was a success and all the crew made 800 baht tip, which is okay...better than nothing!
So my laptop is completely dead! and i doubt i will be able to fix it, it needs to go back to Sony! Today was an awesome day! We sailed from Chalong, to Patong and I sunbathed when i wasnt helping with the actual sailing. So im a little osey right now! and using Rick laptop to do this. Will (Office Will) Has some friends of his on board, so we are off into Patong tonight for dinner, giving Joey a night off, even though the fresh and healthy cooking he does is great. After Frenc Will teaches us the important skill of making cocktails for the guests!!! lol. we get to drink them! We'l be back later to watch a movie (South Park last night)
And then to bed, usually early mornings and im not sure on our plans tomorrow, im hoping its going to be chilled out! We have no charters so the next week or so as far as im aware, and we are meant to be collecting a Steward boy to clean to rooms etc so i dont have to! lol.
Well my loved ones, thats pretty much been my movements for the past week or so, and i must say im missing friendly faces even though im making new ones. Got pictures up in my room which i love! and think of you all always.
Keep in touch! I will email back!
All my love and hugs and kisses xxxxxxxx
Love me xxxxxxxx ;)
