Yesterday morning we woke up early, ready for our trip to the Mekong Delta (after 4 hours sleep). The bus was due to leave at 7.30 and take us 110 km to the south west of Vietnam. The roads are pretty slow going, so it took 2 hours 30 mins! When we got there, we got on a boat and went along the river Mekong. We saw a floating market, and visited an island where the locals make all sorts from rice and coconuts. We bought some rice paper, which is actually pretty tasty!
We then transferred on to rowing boats, which was very peaceful and we wore traditional Vietnamese hats! We stopped for lunch, which was supposedly chicken, but tasted more like cat food!
We cycled back to the boat on old bikes with broken brakes, which was good fun! The boat took us back to the mainland, where we visited a local market! They were selling all sorts, including chicken head!
We jumped back on the bus, back to Ho Chi Minh.
We then had a quick pizza (fancied a bit of normality) and got on the overnight bus to Nha Trang at 9pm. It was amazing! It had 3 rows of bunk beds!! It wasn't the best nights sleep, but was pretty good considering! One guy had the noisiest snore ever, which was highly annoying, but we managed to sleep nonetheless!
