Woke up on the 11th August 2011 to find I'd had a stroke. Thumb, first and second fingers numb and a worrying inability to get my words out.
We had stopped overnight at the CL Black Horse pub at Seaton Ross on our way to visit Sarah and Richard, our children, in Hull. The words became available again, we drove to Hull and took a taxi the short distance to Hull Royal Infirmary where I spent the next week on the 11th floor, ward 10, with a great view out over the river Humber. Now out, waiting - as ever - for an outpatients appointment giving me permission to resume my role as driver.
We have now been at Old Brampton nearly two weeks and, for a change, will be moving courtesy of Dorothy (hereinafter referred to as D) to Melton Mowbray for a pork pie and a change.
We've just had a 125 watt solar panel fitted and as the MM site at Asfordby Sports Ground does not have electric hook-ups it will be interesting to see how it copes.
