A boat trip at night is very spectacular, great photo opportunities on a night setting as you go under the bridges and see the city and building lights reflecting against the water. Come on, let's see those David Bailey shots!

When I saw your pic of the rhino, I so wanted to ask 'Why the long face?' boom boom ;o) x

Another day, another day out! We are heading back into the city and hopefully do the Singapore Flyer and a boat trip today. Florida's Universal is far superior, and obviously takes days to see whereas Singapore can easily done in a day and closes at 7pm, nice though.

Great photo's of you all in Universal, how does it compare to Florida?

There is so much to see and do Ade! We did briefly visit the Botanic Gardens on our city tour, 30 minutes to be precise in the Orchid Garden!! Being on Sentosa gives us the break from the city we need, so we really do get to relax we we return to the Shangri La, and sit on the balcony with a couple of chilled beers!

Great snaps, keep em coming - really enjoy seeing what you're up to there. Don't forget to relax though ;o) We can highly recommend the botanic gardens for a chill and a nice picnic away from the city. xxx

Yes, we have been down Orchard Road, not sure whether we are missing something though, as it's just shopping centre after shopping centre, we did visit Saturday and it was packed!! Never seen so many designer shops as in Singapore, ok if you have loads of money!! There is even a designer shopping mall on Sentosa connecting some of the hotels.......amazing! So if there is something particular we should look out for let us know.

Easy to see why Singa zoo is rated so highly with the variety of inmates with their freedom to roam about, great photo's.
Olympic opening was completely diff to what seen in past, a great succsess.
Don't forget to have a look at Orchard Rd if not already done so...cherrish these next few days.

We are off to Singapore Zoo today, I know we are not zoo visiting peeps, but it's supposed to be one of the best in the world and a must see in Singapore so we'll give it a go!! We didn't see any of the Olympics ceremony, bits on BBC news and, you tube, we look forward to replaying it and seeing it in its entirety on our return. Week down another to go, stop the clock it's going too fast!!!

It is wonderful to share your holiday this way. We are reliving it with you. Good to hear you managed to find some cheap wine, I think the cheapest we found was $20. The transport sounds really good. We are recovering from our weekend with Jean & Maurice, too much to eat & drink and late nights. We watched the Olympic ceremony at Carm & Edd's, it was excellant, made us feel proud to be british. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. xx

LA.......Singapore not many miles apart!! We are taking a steady trip around as we have plenty of time to take it all in, but the realisation is now setting in that we have been here getting on for a week and still loads more to see and do!! Marina Sands had to wait today as some stormy weather was looking as though it was heading our way 3pm but it didn't finally hit till about 8.30. We had a pleasant meal at Clarke Quay, got the MRT back to Vivo City, stocked up on lager left the building to catch our hotel shuttle and it was bucketing down along with a little thunder and lightening!! It's the first rain we've seen. It's now 23.45 and just finished off a bargain $10 bottle of red (californian) ok'ish!! First wine of the holiday, lager hits the spot in this heat though really. Our hotel is quite busy with weekend visitors but it is still big enough to avoid. Such a great find, best of both worlds, the city on your doorstep, and a beach resort to chillax. All transport around the island is free apart from the monorail which goes off island and the train. Hotel shuttle goes to Vivo City every 20mins so getting on and off the Isle is a doddle. So glad we came and look forward to seeing lots more.
