Plane spotting at the airport!!

Well our last full day in beautiful Singapore. Headed to Fort Canning, and a last drink at Clarke Quay before returning back to the hotel for our last couple of hours of sun and dip in the pool. Our day has been made complete by watching the monkeys swing from balcony to balcony, haven't reached ours..............yet!!!!

Today started as a beautiful morning blue skies and sunshine so we went on our boat trip down the river. The sky was turning very black, and just as we were about to board the rain started. It was torrential!! Had to wait at least 20mins to start to ease then made a mad dash to board. Fortunately it stopped and we enjoyed a pleasant trip. Had a chill out day today by the pool before going into the city in the evening for something to eat. However with heavy rain falling we stayed undercover in the complex of shopping centres around City Hall and Esplanade underground stations and ate in a food hall in the Suntec City Mall before finding our way to the Fountain of Wealth - the largest fountain in the world (pictured) but unfortunately it was 'rain stopped play'.

So we sit here on the balcony, overlooking a private function the hotel have been preparing on the beach all afternoon, when the noisiest firework display starts up. Felt like our own personal display, very nice indeed, just feel sorry for those peeps with babies and young children trying to sleep!!
