Hello all.
This is our first entry. After a gruelling 24 hour journey via Abu Dhabi, we arrived at the Deevana Resort and Spa hotel in Patong Beach, Phuket. The hotel is ideally located to a great beach and has amazing facilities including two fabulous pools, a swim up bar, beautiful gardens and great food.
The room is huge! It's so big, it has its own post code! An intercom system is provided to enable you to say'Goodnight' to your partner, wife, husband etc.
We chilled out by the pool on Wednesday and recover from the trip and ventured onto the local beach on Thursday. We actually got slightly burnt even though we sat under the umbrella all day. Clearly, not a UV proof umbrella. Yesterday, we were picked up from our hotel and taken by boat to James Bond Island, which is famous for the setting of The Man with the Golden Gun back in the 70's. En route, we stopped at various places to canoe through some caves and into lagoons. The scenery was spectacular!!! We did lots of swimming too and after lunch on board, our boat was followed by dozens of sea eagles! The crew were throwing out lunch left overs and it was very special, watching such graceful and beautiful birds swoop down on to the surface and scoop up the food with their talons.
The weather is scorching hot and in the low 40's or over 100 degrees in old money and doesn't drop below 29 degrees at night. Needless to say that the air con is on all night.
We check out later and move on to the next resort on another part of Phuket. Hope you like the pics so far.
