40 sleepless hours and the Adriatic coast
What a treat - A brand new plane, only one week old, flew us down to Split. A pleasant enough flight and a nice girl was brave enough to sit next to us, and she even listened and wrote down some of our advice and wisdom, which culminated in convincing her to go to Bosnia!
2 hours in Split was just enough to enjoy Bookfest 2011, and the Roman palace, then off to Dubrovnik and the longest 4 hour bus journey ever. We bounced down the coast seeming to stop at every watering hole for the driver to have a break and get some scram. The journeys enjoyment was aided further by crazed hallucinations where at one point I was sure Isaac turned down the offer of a beer in favour of sleep!
Dubrovnik was, as always, beautiful and the shot of Raki we received at the hostel check-in certainly put a zing back in our mood and a burning sensation in our throats. Refreshed and hungry we hit the streets and had a dinner of pizza and beer with 2 lads from the UK immigration service.
