First to let you know, the blogs are a day or so off the wifi is good but we're so busy I don't have time to get to it. Yesterday , day 2 going by my outfits worn, we visited the tomb of Teti and the great architect Imhotep 's museum. We also saw the step pyramid and 3 of us all woman( I was probably the youngest of all, climbed into the red pyramid, quite a feat. The most exciting however was the drive there through small towns getting ready for the Eid ? Something festival where they are slaughtering the sheep and the water buffalo in order to give food to those in need. I will write more about this and download pictures too- not everyone will want to look. Today , it is 2:00 am, we are off for the airport and the flight to Abu Simbel.By the way Cairo doesn't sleep ! 2 am and stores and restaurants are open and the road to the airport was jammed with traffic. Our wonderful bus driver did a great job , no accidents and the journey through the back streets with a big bus and no rules for the traffic was one of the best parts of the trip! Absolutely fascinating .
