Greetings from 'The Land of Smiles", The Venice of the East", 'The City of Angels"................I am happy to report; it is the dry, cool season in Thailand and much less humid than Bali. It's still hot but possible to walk around without breaking into a full sweat after just a few feet.
I am staying in the infamous backpacker area, Khao San Road. It is a hubbub of activity, to say the lease, and stays up all night. I am pleasantly surprised by the scale of the hotels in the area and have found a spotlessly clean room with ac, tv and a rooftop pool for about $20 bucks.
I have seen most of the sights here on previous trips, so mostly I am wandering around, arranging tickets etc. I am also eating all of my favorites, I have had pad thai and red curry chicken along with some grilled corn on the cob all from the street carts. Probably heading North, Chang Mai, in a few days to relax a bit and head overland to Laos.
