sorry i aint been in much contact lately, but the tour is pretty full on!! It's totally go go go,every morning we are up early to do some activties then late to bed, so im usually shattered, plus the interent connections are not that great so it gets very frustrating using them!!
Just now im in Penang, Malaysia, we got here last night after a 9 hour bus journey from Krabi island Thailand, was sad to see back of Thailand as i have fallen in love with it.
Photos, well i have just spent ages uploading them onto this pc and it's going far too slow to actually upload them online!! im gutted, i just wasted ages fixing them all up! I have so many amazing photos to show, just wish i could get them sorted! There is another interent place over the road from this one, opens later, so tonight i might try and sort the photos' out over there.
So i've done so much since last time, i think that was the first day i arrived i last wrote on here. I did write everything up till Monday on Monday there but the crap net connection lost when i hit send, so my pages of info got lost, i could have cried!! hahah So here is quick, hopefully update of everything i have been upto!
Tues 23 Sept
Today was free day as meeting group at night, so got up and went to Khosan Road, backpacker paradise. Had some breakfast and wandered round all the stalls, food venders, just taking it all in, quite hard to adjust to all the smells and folk hasseling you to look and buy but it's quite cool too.
Wandered around Bangkok with my map and this Thai local asked me where i was from, so stopped and chatted to him, he got my map and marked down lots of cool places to go see, then flagged me a tuk tuk (mini bike van things) and arranged for the guy to take me to the locations! Was bit random but i figured i should try the tuk tuk and also go for it as i wouldn't see anything if i was just walking around!! He took me to few Temples, i seen some Buddha's and lovely scenery, was pretty cool.
That night i met my group for first time. 5 Gals including me, Aimee - from Oz but has been in UK last year so on her way home via trip. Kelly - From Oz, Anna - from Germany, she is heading to Oz after this trip too & Jane, from UK.The girls are lovely, really nice bunch. Our tour guide is Johann, said Yohan, he is from Papya New Guinea, but stays in Bangkok with wife for work.
That night we went out for dinner and drinks, then home to bed as everyone was shattered and we arranged to get up and see stuff next day.
Wed 24th Sept
All girls got up early for breakfast, hired taxi to take us to reclining buddha, wandered round temple, took pics, it was massive!!! Should see my pics (hopefully at somepoint!) Then from there we went to Grand Palace, only down fall is they make you cover your shoulders, and knees so it was roasting and we had to add more layers! The palace was beautiful!! really breathtaking. As it was getting to lunch time and very hot we hopped in taxi to MBK, Thailand biggest shopping centre for lunch and much needed air conditioning!!
From there we had to go check-out hotel as we left that night for Khosok national park. We were getting the overnight train from Bangkok. The train was amazing! Very warm, but cool! Was old train and the chairs sat in pairs of two facing each other. At 8pm the chairs turned into beds, bunk style. I was sharing with Aimee, was cool.
Thurs 25th Sept
Arrived at train station, few hours outside Khosok, we got sangthew to national park and it was beautfil! Was so good to be in greenland rather than the city! We were staying int really cool resort with litten wooden huts! I was sharing with Kelly for next two nights.
After we arrived early morning we went tubing down the river that went round the national park. Basically a tyer and we all had one and jumped into in and floated around river, was very cool. That night was relaxed dinner and drinks in resort. Our tour guide had two guys joining us tongiht, Waxxie and his mate Mike. They are both from Canada but Waxxie is a tour guideliving in bangkok too. He's been there 10 years so his mate Mike was over for 2 weeks to stay. So Johann invtited them to come with us for few nights to give mike chance to meet some folk on tour also.
Fri 26th Sept
Up early to go to Limewater lake! Few hour drive, we were going to be spending whole day on boat on the lake. It was sureal! Really sunny, really lovely! I was in love with the place! We spent few hours on boat then docked at shore to go on hour treking walk through the jungle area to get to the caves on the other side. We started treking and them came the monsoon rain, was soo funny!! We got drenched! But dried off pretty quickly when it stopped. AFter walk, we jumped back onto boat to go to some bamboo huts floating on the lake for lunch, after lunch we had few hours to either kayak in water or just jump in and swim!! Was great! Once again, bed few drinks then dinner as up at 7am to drive to Krabi!
Saturday 27th Sept
Arrive Krabi, staying at Dawn of Happiness, lovely resort 10 mins outside main beach strecht, with our on private beach!! We were in little beach huts that walked onto the beach! Was amazing!! We were here 3 nights.
Frist night we wandered into town for look around, then that night had dinner with the Canadians at Seafood restaraunt! Was actually lovely, i had some BBQ baracuda, some thai caught fish. I also tried massive prawns, some crab and sea bass! check me out! hahah
From there we were going to pub to meet antoerh tour group who were having there last night in Krabi, so we went to Chang bar and our tour leader decided we got drunk!! So he bought the first bucket! Basically a small bucked filled with mixed alcohol and lots of straws! After the first one, everone had to buy one each, by midnight everyone was very drunk, dancing like idiots and generally having a very good time! THe german Anna on our group met a lovely German boy from the other group, was very cute!! The rest of us gals just danced and drank till 3am, then home to bed.
Sunday 28th Sept
The only downfall was next morning at 8am we were going on an island cruise on a speedboat! It was not a good day for anyone. Everyone was sleepy but ok in morning! But the weather was not with us that day and it turned really bad! the waves were so big the speedboat was struggling to get through them, the boucing was so hard that people were being sick, not just my group, i managed to hold it together and i have no idea how! Especially when others are being ill around you. We then got caught in monsoon rain too, so along with being bounced at massi heights through the waves we were not getting drenched with rain! Then guy gave us life jackets as it was so bad! Not a good day! That night we finally got home, everyone just crashed out straight to bed.
Monday 29th Sept
Today was free day, so sleep in for all, then i went to main town for Thai massage! Hmmmmmm was lovely but firm! haha, i thought i was going to be killed! But worthwile experience i felt great after it! After that i wandered back into hut and had lazy day wandering around our private beach taking photos and having lazy night before our 9hour bus trip to Malaysia!
Tues 30th Sept.
The bus trip, nothing that exciting, mostly everyone slept, we arrived Penang at night, went for Indian and a walk around the town. I have my own room for our 2 ngihts here, as there is a odd number of girls and you share and have one shot at own room. Nice!! Big double bed all to me!
