Writing this blog has proved much more difficult than I thought it would, simply because of the vagaries of the wifi signal in the different places we've been staying. Whenever I manage to write something the signal fails just as I press 'enter' & everything disappears into the ether! Anyway, although there's not much to see on here, we have been having the most amazing experience! We are so lucky to have seen so many of the astounding sights in this wonderful world & to have met such interesting, kind, helpful, lovely people along the way. And we still have another six weeks!
We are now halfway through our week in Hawaii (big island) & staying in the most fabulous B&B called "The beautiful edge of the world" And it certainly is both beautiful & seemingly on the edge of the world when we look out from our lanai (balcony) at the panoramic view across the coffee plantations to the Pacific ocean. Our hosts ,Karl & Kana are really hospitable & welcoming, & provide a wonderful breakfast of homegrown food each morning. Today we had pancakes filled with their own grown macadamia nuts, plus bananas, avocado & limes from their garden! Then there's the coffee grown on their plantation, which is nothing like Costa coffee - it's in a completely different league!!
Whilst we've been in these Islands we've heard plenty of Hawaiin music & singing, most of which has been lovely to listen to, but it has to be said that some is reminiscent of Billy Connolly's rendition of a drunk Glaswegian singing as he leaves the pub on a Saturday night!

Lee Hope you have taken plenty of photos :)
Sue Hollis Ai loved big island, we stayed in Kona and found the volcanic area fascinating. Look forward to seeing you photos, may need a day or so!
Wendy M Volcanic activity certainly provides some interesting and beautiful scenery. Don't you just love technology, wonderful when it works but sooooo frustrating when it doesn't. Hope Canada is prepared for your visit, have fun! We will need one of our coffees that goes on all day to see all the photos I think. Wendy M
Kim Just caught up with your blogs Pam. So well written, it's shame you haven't been able to do more. Still, look forward to seeing the many photos and hearing some of the stories of your travels when you return. It all sounds wonderfully picturesque albeit exhausting. Looking forward to hearing about Vancouver. Kim A.
