La Coruna
We left Plymouth a few days ago expecting to go to the Isles of Scilly and ended up in Spain. Oops. The weather was so good that we decided to skip the Scilly Isles and go straight across the Bay of Biscay. After a good start we ended up motoring most of the way in a dead calm, which was still sufficient to ensure Helen felt sick the entire time - although she was prevented from actually being sick by means of her magic watch (a relief band, which transmits a small electric charge into the nerve in the wrist, preventing seasickness - yes, it does work).
We arrived in La Coruna yesterday evening and inevitably found our way to the bar, where Alex was chatted up by a very odd man who went by the name of Captain Pinkerton and had a very affectionate relationship with his pet dog. He bought all the drinks though - we can forgive any amount of eccentricities for that.
We are staying here for two days and then continuing to sail down the coast.
