A Big one...
Ok here we go it's been quite a long time since I last updated my blog so this is a big en.
So day three on our Kiwi bus and we got on a ferry at about 11:00am to visit a small town about 30 mins away from Pahaia called Russel, it wasn't too interesting, we visited the beach and the oldest licensed pub in New Zealand, After that we jumped onto a coach at 3pm for three hours until a wheel blew out on the coach so we had to pull over for like an hour while some dude came and fixed it for us, we then arrived back in Auckland for 7pm and stayed over at Fusion hostel we stayed at before. We met up with some old friends Kez and Haz who were there last time we stayed over so we made the most of the night and had a few drinks with them.
27th Feb:
Today we had to be up really early to jump onto the coach for 8:30am we then headed out for Mercury Bay further south. On the way me and matt had a go at doing some sea Kayaking in some pretty rough water but it was awesome fun, this lasted three hours and we had a guide with us to show off some sweet spots. It was about 25 pounds so worth it :D We ended up sailing to a smaller beach called Costal Cove were we had hot chocolate on the beac, then we sailed back to the other beach but the wind had really picked up and we had to ride some pretty big waves. Sadly I totally ate the first wave and got pretty bloody wet.
28th Feb:
Today we arrived at the hot rock base hostel thankfully all these base places are really cheap after we got dropped off we went to the luge tracks where we got to fly down three different tracks at quite a speed. Sadly it started to piss it down but it was still great fun After the rides we were all soacking but got back on the bus got dry and went to the bar next door to our hostel and had a pizza and a few beers
1st March: Today at 9:30 myself, matt, joe and dave all went for a zorb ride which was amazing fun, only lasted like 20 seconds but totally worth it. In the afternoon we went on this thing called "Black water rafting" where you go into some caves with a wet suit and an inner tube and look atglow worms and jumped down a few waterfalls. By far the best thing ive done in NZ yet(but that might change tomorrow).
March 2nd:
Today we got on a coach at 9:00am in Taupo and visted Hukka falls which looks amazing, we then arrived in our hostel which is really nice and we had a room to just the five of us. Since dave needed some walking boots for his and matts walk the next day myself and laura went around town to have a look to see if we could buy him any, but had no luck so instead went to the supermarket and bought food for the next few days, then came back and chilled out amd then matt and dave went to sleep and me and Joe watched Duce Bigalo Europian gigalo then went to bed.
March 3rd:
Dave and Matt went on a hike up two mountains one of which was from the Lord of the rings called mount doom. While they were hone me, laura and Joe went shopping and looked around the town and had some ice cream and bought a few things. After awhile we went to a bar for some free pool and some beers. Then met up with matt and dave and dressed up and went to the party they were having downstairs and entered a pool comp but lost :(
March 4th:
The next day we woke up at about 8:30am and got on the coach to river valley on the way we stopped off at this museum about the many volcanoes around NZ. Then we went to some massive waterfall that matt and joe jumped off of like nutters, stayed there for about 2 hours and then headed off. We eventually arrived in river valley and it wasn't what I was expecting. Since there was one building...the place we were staying in lol. not really much to do there so we played some poker and went to bed for the next day.
March 5th:
The next day we had from 10am till 2pm to do nothing so we decided to sign up for some gold that they had at the top of the hill before getting to the hostel. We they hopped back onto another coach(lotta coaches) and headed for Wellington(Now the capital NZ) we arrived on Dave's birthday so we bought some party stuff to mess about with, me and matt literally ran off the bus up the street to get a decent room. We then celebrated and got quite drunk in the room we had with beer and bubbly, after we went to the bar downstairs called "Basement" to have more beers and joe got entered into and won a comp and got himself a $50 bar tab so bout 20 pounds, which he swiftly spent plus another $20 on 6 shots and a round. Bar started to die down after that so we called it a night a went to bed.
March 6th:
Today we had a REALLY! nice lay in since we had two days in Wellington so we went to the "Te Papa" museum and met up with Matt big gay cousin Jake. The museum was ok... but nothing special. Then jake, matt and joe went off on there own so me, dave and laura went to look around some shops ad finally went back to the hostel and did nothing.....Wellington is pretty crap though to say it's a capital city. dave and laura went out for a b-day meal so me and joe went to the bar and had a few beers again, but got crap so we went back to the room and matt and joe went off to a gay bar ;)
March 7th:
So today we had to wake up at bloody 6am to grab a small bus to take a ferry to the south island it was pretty s*** if i'm honest, I expected more but it was only a three hour trip. So after a few card games and waisting money in the arcade we arrived in the south island and it was blazing hot and looked really nice. We stopped off at a small cafe on our way to the next stop and turned up in Nelson which is an awesome little city, sadly my camera stopped working so I wasn't able to get anymore pictures taken. After getting settled at the hostel we went on a big walk up to the top of a hill that was the geographical centre of NZ and got a few pictures. When we got back we spent like 5 hours watching "Meet the parents" and this other crappy film with a strange ending. But it was well worth it because we got to see an awesome music video called On a boat by Lonely Island.
So it's the last week now in New Zealand now and it's kinda sad since i've had such an awesome time and it's been cool to get to know so many people and travel around NZ with them. Hopefully Oz can live up to the hype that people give it and will hopefully have predictable weather conditions LOL.
