Heraklion, Greece Sep 16, 2012 The double axe head is the royal symbol of the mythical King Minos. Who knew in 1900 that his palace was real? Double axe = "labrys" in Greek = labyrinth. I would see the real and authentic labyrinth the next day at Knossos. I was really excited.
