This little clay picture is so elegant with its thin red stripe pattern -- my personal favorite in the collection.

The double axe head is the royal symbol of the mythical King Minos. Who knew in 1900 that his palace was real? Double axe = "labrys" in Greek = labyrinth. I would see the real and authentic labyrinth the next day at Knossos. I was really excited.
