Up early for our buffet breakfast, loving the boiled eggs and out to see Trento. First stop was the Neptune fountain which was very beautiful and then a quick visit to the Church where the council of Trent was held over 20 years to decide the direction of the Catholic Church (very big deal for Trent) was a beautiful church and was nice to see people dropping in for their morning prayer prior to starting their day (not having a religion I found it quite foreign but was nice to see people with such faith and belief in their chosen religion). We then made our way in the direction of the castle of Trento, couldn't miss it, was huge and impressive, had a few exhibitions being shown in the rooms spread over the castle which were really interesting. Was a really beautiful castle and well worth the trip. Now to get our stuff and head to our next destination of Innsbruck, Austria. Another beautiful train journey taking us right up into the heart and soul of the Austrian alps. Luckily the hotel we booked was connected to the train station by a tunnel because it was freezing outside. The hotel Europa was a 5 star hotel that we got for a steal of €99 a night including breakfast and the queen and the Rolling Stones etc have stayed there. What a beautiful hotel and the room and bathroom were stunning, nice to splurge on the odd occasion :). We headed outside braving the cold to see if we could find the nearest laundromat as we were both in dire need of washing, luckily it was directly around the corner from the hotel so that will be tomorrow nights task. We also took a quick stroll to the small Christmas markets but they were closing so after a little window shopping we headed back to the hotel and grabbed a quick bite to eat from the grocery store for dinner. Innsbruck looks like its going to be beautiful in the daylight and I look forward to heading up the mountain tomorrow and to the alpine zoo.
