So Viña Del Mar was our next destination. We had decided to stay here over Valparaiso as we had been told and had read many stories saying that although beautiful and deserving it´s UNESCO World Heritage status, it was not the safest of places. Viña Del Mar is the next bay over from Valparaiso, making it a quick commute between the two. It was also deemed a much safer and cleaner place to stay.
We spent some time in wandering the streets of Viña Del Mar, strolling down to the beach and walking along it, almost being flattened by the local Naval forces taking a run as part of their daily exercises.
The following day we headed to Valparaiso, although you can see the attraction it holds, we only spent a few hours taking in the steep sloped streets and the multi coloured buildings. Like any town which once prospered from an extremely busy port (now a shadow of it´s former importance due to the opening of the Panama canal) it now seemed to have it´s fair share of social problems.
Glad we visited but time to head on back over to Argentina
