Bula!!! (Thats hello in Fijian!!)
Well, we are now back in Nadi just packed our bags and ready for our next leg of our trip, to Rarotonga (Cook Islands). We have had the most incredible time in Fiji and on our tour of the Yasawa islands. We stayed on 3 islands. The first one, after a 4 and a half hour boat trip (3 of which Zoe spent filling sick bags( at least we know we've got our presents for everyone sorted out now!!)) was called Sunrise resort on Nanuya Lailai. It was by far our favourite stay. It was very basic and we literally lived in the village with all the locals, a fantastic experience we absolutely loved. The locals were so friendly and happy, always grinning and laughing. We got to snorkel in the Blue lagoon (where the film was made!) where we saw loads of incredible coloured fish in the coral. We also snorkelled in some sacred caves which was wicked (apart from Paul, who cut his head on the cave opening, hes okay now though, if anything knocked a bit of sense into him!) The remainder of our time was spent either laying in hammocks, eating freshly husked coconuts and generally chilling out (god it was hard going!). The next island was Korovou resort on Naviti. Lovely setting but much more commercial, so it was good to see both sides of Fiji life. The two days we spent here we sadly had to spend lazing around, either on the loungers or in hammocks with only a jump in the pool to cool us off in the burning heat!! The last resort you will all of heard of, Bounty Island, home of Celebrity Love Island!! Again, stunning scenery, we even swam in the same pool used by the celebs and even visited the love shack!! The weather has been perfect, not too sunny but enough to give us a healthy glow! Up until the last day on Bounty when the heavens opened and we experienced a tropical storm!! Quite nervewracking when youre staying in a thatched roofed bure ten metres from the shore!! All good fun though!!
We are now back in Nadi Bay resort, just waiting to be taken to the airport for our flight which leaves 5.15pm (our time) to Rarotonga. We will hopefully upload some more photos in the next few days.
Hope you all have built some lovely snowmen!!
Love and miss you all
