Olly & Bec's European Adventure!
We arrived in rome on a high from our time in Florence and boy what a shock did we get! Rome is everything you expect it to be - great buildings, loadsa history and nice food but with one truly shocking exception - the people! The roman people are rude, arrogant and had an obvious dislike for tourists - especially english ones! This kinda put a dampner on our time there but being great people that the english are, we made the most of it! (i mean at least it wasnt raining). Anyways, apart from the people which i am not going to waste any more of my time talking about, rome itself was interesting. The collosseum was breathtaking, the vatican unbelievable (the sistine chapel everyone should definately see) and genuinely the architecture around rome was something else. But oh my god how busy was it! We had been warned it would be but it felt like every tourist had abandoned every other destination and flocked to rome! The other thing that becki found disturbing was the number of children begging on the subway - about 4 years up and with no sign of parents anywhere. Sadly this was not a rarity either and we nearly brought a bundle of them to france with us! All in all though rome was a cool place to visit; the only problem was it was full of romans!
See you all soon
