It's been a while since I have written anything in this blog so thought I would give you all a catch up on Sydney life.
I've been here for 7months now, and to be fair I didn't think I would last a total of 6months away from home so being gone for 9 is a massive achievement for me.
I've done the necessary touristy bits and pieces the bridge and the Opera House are both beautiful and it doesn't get boring taking a walk to Circular Quay for a bit of a wander to see them, especially in the amazing weather we are having at the moment (and it's only spring, gonna get hotter than this)
Darling Harbour is also a favourite, the bars and atmosphere are brilliant, there is always some festival or street entertainment going on. Also had some fun nights at the Casino, even managed to win $125 on the machines, wahoo!! Big bonus of the casino is the sports bar where they show all the Premier League games on big screens. So if I'm inclined and not too drunk I can stay awake till some insane time in the morning to watch Liverpool!!!
I've met some fabulous amazing people since I've been here.
YHA Central - Sarah and Michelle you guys made starting out in Sydney so much easier and much funnier than I expected, thank you Sarah for introducing me to The Opera Bar - good for a treat, the cocktails are awesome!!!
YHA Railway - Had a good few months here, laughter, tears, a LOT of games of s*** Head - You can pick up but only if you want to - thanks guys, and a few drunken evenings.
Onto Casa Central - Stu and the Crew, love this place. So chilled out and I love my girlies Emma and Anna. Been here about a month now, have watched a lot of movies and have been introduced to a lot of new / old tv shows that I have never watched (Dan - You've never watched Seinfeld) I've been converted to a huggy person, and this place is like a massive family.
I've had a lot of drunken evenings since I've been at Casa, some of which I remember and some of which are very fuzzy. My most memorable or not memorable evening was Labour Day bank holiday weekend - lots of rum and coke, falling asleep on top of Adam and Scott - sorry for that guys, love you!! And then having a little nap in the toilet, thank you Emma and Anna for not taking photos and Anna for putting me to bed, you are a legend. - Sorry Mum, I know you will be shaking your head at this, I am being careful I promise xx
The boys are brilliant, I could flirt with them all, and easily fall in love with them all - flirting is bad, esecially when drunk (and no I'm not mentioning names)
The girlies are AMAZING, I've already mentioned Em and Anna, but, Michelle, Cath and Helen (the Welshies), Amanda, Sammie and Perrie.
Rachel - I've lived with you in both Railway and Casa, you have listened to me when I've been stressed and emotional and you are a masive part of why I haven't got on a plane home, looking forward to dinner later hun - thank you xx
Been working pretty much from May onwards at a few places. The main two have been Laing O'Rourke and I'm now working at ACU which is The Australian Catholic University, things are going well. I'm working and saving to go travelling again in the new year. East and West Coast here I come.
I'll update more regulary hopefully, and fill you guys in on what I'm up to!!
