Early rise again this morning, didn't sleep well last night, kept waking but staring up at the stars on a clear night/morning was the compensation enough.
Left the resort at 5.30am to see the sunrise at Uluru and do the base walk, it's an 8km walk around the base. It was an unguided walk - Tom took the opportunity to sleep a little while we walked. It didn't take me and Jonathan long to do it, our bellies were hungry and we weren't having breakfast until after the walk.
We arrived back to the bus at 7.30, it was nice to do the walk in the cool morning, it didn't take long to reach the usual 36 degrees!
Sausages and beans for breakfast courtesy of me and Jonathan as we were the first back we started cooking while Tom caught up on a few more zzzz. He has long drive back to Alice Springs later today (5 hours).
The rest of the group arrived back and the sausages were almost ready...
After breakfast we hit the road, a few pitstops on the way and self made sandwiches for lunch again.
The last stop before Alice is a camel farm, I didn't feel like riding the camel, it was too hot, but some of the group did.
Back to the hostel for a shower, some food and a couple of drinks before heading to bed.. Early!
Travelling to Sydney tomorrow morning so rest is well needed at this stage - after the last 3 days in the Outback!

Anne-Marie Am really enjoying reading about your trip. Sounds like you are having an absolute ball. One day I hope you get to the outback myself. Have a great New Years Eve in Sydney. See you in 2011.
