I'm finally dry! After being soaked to the bone up the Franz Josef Glacier today. It was worth it though, very strange seeing a glacier in the middle of a rain forrest, plus we got a fair way up it to, so yet again my poor legs are suffering!
The whole of the Westland of south island are in general very wet and remote, but absolutely stunning!
I'll pick up where I left off shall I anyway...
I DID IT! I did my bungy jump! Only just though as I told them about the whiplash I had from that stupid bucking bronco and they were a bit reluctant to let me do it as seen as I can get whip lash from that I was for sure going to get it from doing a bungy, but luckily they came up with a way of doing it to have the least pressure on my neck so I basically had to roll backward over platform and didn't have to jump as some guy was holding me and then just let me go... so really it was much better for me as I didn't have to make the jump! It was amazing though, it was over the Kawarau River which was clear blue and it's a really weird feeling falling and bouncing upside down. It was also over in seconds, $160 gone like that, would defintiely do one again though.
Spent my last night in Queenstown actually venturing into town to see what all the fuss was about and it very much reminded me of my days in faliraki. Could have easily got wasted and had a huge night, but my experience of nearly missing my bus stopped me so I called it a day at 11pm.... no really I did! lol
Bus trip to Franz Josef was long...beautiful scenery though so stayed awake for all of it, it's just so untouched.
So my stay in Franz Josef is over and tomorrow I head up coast to Punakaiki which is in the middle of no where so will have no signal... apparently there's internet though so that makes me happy!
