Let me point out that prior to coming over here I was continually checking the weather and Paris was averaging 25 degrees... But, of course, when I get here they're experiencing a heat wave and the temperature was hovering around 30 degrees overnight and was meant to reach the top of 38. It was just what I had come to expect with this trip after the last three days, and as stated before the UK & Europe do not believe in air-conditioners.
So I had to brave catching the Metro by myself and I thank Jessi for getting me to buy 12 Metro tickets. I managed to get myself to the right station and promptly go upstairs to meet them not realizing that I should have stayed on the platform to catch the train to Disney. After some crazy texting with Jessi I finally figured that I had to go back down to the platforms and waste a ticket. I found them pretty easily once I got to the platforms and about 5 minutes before the train was due Jessi realized that she left her documents to get into Disney at the hotel so I went on without them. I decided to hang about the front until they arrived and knew that I had to change clothes to be able to survive the heat.
Once Jess and Chris arrived I told them I was going to get something cooler to wear and will meet them near the front. So $75 dollars later on a flimsy Minnie Mouse dress that I will probably never wear again I'm able to face the heat. Damn shame they had no Mickey. And let's not forget a bottle of Suntan lotion that cost me $25. OMG!!!
What a disaster of a day. I won't bore you with the details except that we there for seven hours and only got on two rides. Every ride we queued for took one hour if the ride was working but as soon as we neared the front of the line there was a malfunction on the ride. One of them which is a truck pulling a few trolleys around broke down twice while we waited in line - I mean how hard could it be to pull trolleys. We went to about seven rides in total and only got on two. One we waited for over an hour before being turfed out. Not one Disney character was around and the crowds were immense even for Disney. There will be a stern letter going to the Disney Corporation stating my huge disappointment with Euro Disney.
We did end up complaining at their office and was offered a Fast Track pass but by this stage our feet were sore we were hot and we were utterly disappointed so we decided to go home. Once back at the hotel I put my feet up and just relaxed and get ready for the next day. I'm glad I looked at my tour ticket for the next day because I had to call to confirm it and realised that I need to dress up as jeans aren't allowed at the Moulin Rouge, and guess what! Do you think I packed anything but jeans, no of course not!!! And I don't think they would appreciate a Minnie Mouse sundress.I wish my jet lagged brain would get it together.
I'm meeting up with Julia tomorrow so that should be awesome. Hopefully she can renew my faith in Paris....
