Paraty - a lovely little colonial town only 4 hours south of Rio. The plan was to have a bit of R&R in the summer sun after the frenetic intensity of Rio, only to be kiboshed by a thunderstorm on our arrival! It brightened up though on the last day, so not all bad.
Hostel was really nice but a little weird as it was run by a bloke from Norwich who spoke no Portuguese - suited us fine though!
Enjoyed some sweet soul tunes in a local bar sung by a Luther Vandross-esque guy who had an amazing vocal range, although he did frequently forget the words and start scatting, which was fun.
It was here that we said a final (?) goodbye to the remnants of our Patagonian tour as we all went our separate ways. End of an era!
