27th Jan We flew from Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam back to Thailand to Phuket. We only stayed there one day. If you have ever been to Magaluf or Benidorm, Phuket is the same, but worse and with more prostituses and lager louts.
29th we headed for Koh Phangan for the Full moon party. The Full moon party was brilliant! Not to be missed. It's one of the craziest parties you will ever go to. I also managed to get my self involved in some fire limbo! Haad rin is where the party is and the best place to stay, there isn't much else to do on the island apart from party in haad rin.
Next stop was Koh Tao, this is huge for diving. We did snorkling and am glad I did not dive as visibility was not very good here. THis is a good island to visit as it's not full of holiday makers and is really chilled out. They have a drag queen show which is really rubbish, but becasue it is so rubbish it's really good. I ended up being dressed up with a few other audience members in drag and dragged onto stage to dance, very embarrasing, but so funny. If you visit koh Tao, book accommodation in advance. We had a nightmare finding somewhere and ended up in the s***test bungalow ever.
Koh Samui was the next island en route, there isn't much to do there and it's again full of package holiday makers, so we only stayed a day and were out of there.
We then made our way back across the mainland to Krabi. This is a mission over land and took 9 hours on buses and boats, but is so much cheaper than flying it. Krabi is great for visiting those islands from the postcards. We visited the Phi Phi island to do snorkling and the water was so clear and there is so much coral and fish to see. We visited Maya beach where the film "The Beach" was filmed. It is absolutely beautiful, but so many people visiting it it ruins it. Krabi was quite chilled and they have the cutst little monkeys living wild on the beach.
Today we trevelled the 4 hours by bus to Hat Yai and are making our way down into malaysia tomorrow.
