In our gangster Dodge Charger, we headed straight for the Hoover Dam which is on the Nevada and Arizona border! We also walked over the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge! Back in the car again, destination West Rim Grand Canyon. We got to see the canyon from two points, Eagle Point where there is a sky walk 4000 meters above the canyon! (we didn't go on, Nic's a tad scared of heights) Then Hualapai Point. We could see the Colorado River which is 100ft deep. After hanging out there we drove to a small lake side town, Lake Havasu city and stayed in a motel. Next morning saw the London Bridge, dismantled and shipped piece by piece from London! Hitting the road again (driving on the right side) for 6-7 hrs we make it to Sequoia National Park to see the General Sherman tree which is the biggest and heaviest in the world! We were too late to book a campsite so we slept in a car for the night! Early wake up and drive into the neighboring King Canyon National Park were we also saw a tree, the General Grant tree. It is the widest tree! And also drove the road all the way to the end in Kings Canyon. The canyon is 4000ft deep! Left the national park and started our travel to San Francisco! Jackson did most of the driving, so that makes Nicole the navigator and we actually did ok on the roads! Stayed at a snazzy Rest Stop all decked out with half a dozen vending machines and massive toilet facilities! (and we all know Jack loved the free accomodation) Two days in the beautiful San Fran full of sightseeing! Golden Gate bridge (75 years old) where we got a great view of Alcatraz, we drove through Golden Gate Park, and visited Chinatown where we devoured a banquet. Second morning we walked to the "Crookedest Street" then to Fishermens Warf and saw Liberty Ships which only took 60 days to build and some sea lions, and the Explorotorium which is kind of like a science works! Headed to our favourite rest stop for a good nights sleep in the car so we could hit Pacific Coast Highway for a more scenic drive to Los Angeles! Our trip took double the amount of time than we assumed so we got into Hermosa Beach, LA quite late at night. Our hostel was in a great location, practically on the beach and a whole street of bars! We went out fir a MASSIVE slice of pizza and then were happy to call it a day! The next day we head to Universal Studious for a day of rides, shows and a studio tour. Our favourite ride was the brand new Tansformers 3D ride! It was amazing! We also went in The Mummy, Jurassic Park and The Simpsons. Also in the Studio Tour we get to go on the King Kong 3D ride as well! A very fun day indeed! Our last full day in LA was spent on a Hollywood tour where we got to see the Hollywood sign, Rodeo Drive and a quite a few celebrity homes. Some included Jennifer Anniston, Courtney Cox, Charleze Theron, Michael Jackson and dozens more! Finished the day with meeting some friends from Melbourne, Cam and Simone, to see a Lakers Playoff Game at Staples Stadium! What an experience! We all loved it! But sadly the Lakers lost! After the game we headed back to our accommodation so we could get some rest, because the next day was going to be spent flying to Calgary, Canada!
