These are exciting times. We're now in Sucre, which is Bolivia's official capital city...or one of two or something like that! Anyway, it's pretty nice here, mostly because I can wear shorts during the day and don't have to wrap up at night. In fact, while on the two-and-a-half hour taxi ride down here from Potosi, which itself is not that much to (literally) write home about, you could almost feel the air that little bit easier to breathe. We did, however, before we left, go to the mines while we were there, which, to this day, are used for finding silver. I've just added a couple of photos both of this excursion and of our time out in the mountains, where we stayed with a vicuna called Dave. There's also a very short but very funny video of Charlotte in a state of shock after being told about how dynamite is still used there!
Tomorrow, we're flying to Santa Cruz, before we head out to the wetlands of Western Brazil to lie in a hammock and see some animals. I think we're all very excited about Brazil at the moment, not only because of the hot weather we're likely to get, but also because of a big football match and a free live concert going on on the Copacobana beach in Rio, which would definitely be a fitting to end to the tour!
I wanted to finish before I write next some time next week, by saying thank you to all of those of you who have commented on the message board so far. I'm sorry I don't really get the chance to respond - finding the time to write these blogs is pretty hard in itself - but it is really nice to think you're interested in what's going on. Feel free to write funny stuff about the photos and videos as well....well done Denham!
