Have to look back at what had happened last time I wrote, as yet again, lots has happened since my last entry! That weekend, we went to Surin again... Bus got in, we got a tuktuk, but none of the drivers knew where the apartments were that we were heading for, so ended up back at the Big C. Went to MK restaurant, but rice and meat wasn't doing it for us, so we had some KFC as a top-up, followed by an amazing icecream from Swensen's (had a good few of these last...

So another week has passed! Still not much idea of whether I am actually working here, and still no visa, but I am hopeful that this will be sorted in the next few days...! We did indeed go to Surin on the following day - we met a Chinese guy called Huang (I think!) who is really friendly and so far he's the best English speaker we have found...! Anyway, he showed us where to get a bus, and we managed to somehow get onto the right bus. 45 minutes and 35 baht ...

A lot has happened in the last few days! Thai dancing was really fun -thinking I could take it up over here! And the Thai lesson showed me that I still can't speak Thai... In the afternoon, we went to Chatutak market, which is massive, and sells everything you can imagine. We found ourselves in the pet section for a bit too long! Lots of puppies squished into cages, which wasn't nice, and the whole area stank! But the clothes section was fun, and I hope to go ...

So, here we go! Finally in Thailand, after ages of talking about it! I left home at 2.30am on Tuesday, and arrived at the hotel around 9.30am on Wednesday... not much sleep in between! I met a photographer from Surrey on the flight to Dubai, so chatted to him for most of the journey (and we played tetris on the in-flight entertainment!). Loads of us doing the same thing were on the same flight (though we didn't realise it at the time), so we all got picked up ...

3 days left at work now! In 2 weeks time, I will be in Dubai airport, halfway to Bangkok! Things left to do: - print off everything! - get some Thai baht - confirm flights - pick up malaria tablets - get last vaccine - see everyone! - PACK!
