Bangkok, Thailand
Hi everyone! We thought we'd eventually update this to let you know what we've been up to so far! We've seen and done soooo many things in such a short time its hard to know where to start!!! Neway we'll give it a go...
Leaving family and friends was really emotional... we loved our surprise banner that ended up on Wango!!! Flew to terminal 5 Heathrow and then onto the long flight to Hong Kong! It was definately worth the flight! We arrived in Kowloon at the guesthouse we had booked online before we went, it looked a little bit dubious but it was fine, on an absolutely mad road with millions of neon signs, music playing, people everywhere day and night! Location was amazing! We walked to the harbour overlooking Hong Kong skyline and we were stunned, it was fantastic. We went to a viewing deck and watched the symphony of lights show.... all the massive buildings light up to music and there are lazers and little boats, it was a perfect start! We had food in a hongkonese place haha, peters hot and sour soup still wins tho the ledge!
The next few days...
we got the really cheap ferry across to Hong Kong, walked around the biggest and best mall we've ever seen, had coffee and played triv and got wasted in a pub called the Wheel! Ended up in there all afternoon for happy hour and then met some americans in Lan Kwai Fong (the 'in'place to go for a night out) and had a drink with them... Buble lookalike haha! Drunk... we had no change for the ferry and the attendant paid us on because it was the last one back to Kowloon haha! Food there is weird, they eat ANYTHING... skin off chickens, cows stomach, tendons, ears, all types of fish! Sooo clean there, they wash the outside of the shops and the pavement all day! I had a cake and squirted cream on the floor like the clumsy meff that I am and a cleaner was there at the speed of light! hehe! We paid for a bus tour... paul fell asleep a little bit hungover the whole way around haha! Nightmarkets were unbelievable... we loved them! Loads of people selling everything and an amazing atmosphere.. u could pick a live fish/crab/lobster whatever and they cooked it! Had a day out of the centre and went to Repulse bay and Stanley market, sea front beaches and markets! Victoria peak was definately the highlight... we went on an extremely steep tram ride to get there which was terrifying... the skyscrapers were at a 45 degree angle! Views were amazing... loads n loads of pics hehe! Madam Tussauds was included in the price! We found an amazing little place selling noodles n had the cheapest but the best meal in Hong Kong there and the fittest wontons ever! Loved it! Then we went to Knutsford Steps, the best place to go out in Kowloon... expensive... we could only afford 1 drink haha! Good to see though!
Theres LOADS more, its hard to condense it and write down how good it was but we loved it! Can't believe the first part of our trip is over but onto Bangkok....
